NSFC Vice President Dr. Gao Ruiping met with Ecuadorian delegation on May 16, 2018. The delegation, consisting of Ecuadorian scientists, was led by Dr. Claude Lara, Minister Counselor at Ecuadorian Embassy in China. Dr. Gao gave a welcome address, which was followed by an update on NSFC and its cooperation with Ecuador. Ecuadorian scientists introduced “the Galapagos D.A.R.W.I.N. program”, a collaborative research program conducted by Chinese and Ecuadorian scientists. The two sides also explored fields of common interests for future collaboration. Zou Liyao, Deputy Director-General, Bureau of International Cooperation and Liu Xiuping, Division Director for American and Australasian Affairs attended the meeting.
